Israel confirms Hamas took Israeli hostages to Gaza, killed Israeli soldiers

The Israel Defense Forces’ top spokesperson, Daniel Hagari, said that Hamas has taken Israelis as hostages to the Gaza Strip, according to a Times of Israel report on Saturday.

In a briefing with reporters, Hagari said Israeli soldiers have also been killed in the fighting.

No numbers were given on the number of hostages taken or soldiers killed.
