Iran, Tanzania sign MoU to launch joint committee of commerce

Representatives from the Iranian and Tanzanian chambers of commerce have signed a memorandum of understanding to form a joint committee of commerce.  

The agreement was signed as part of an Iran-Tanzania Joint Economic Cooperation Commission in Dar es Salaam in presence of Iranian Minister of Agricultural Jihad and the Tanzanian Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Director of Arab-African Department of Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines, and Agriculture (ICCIMA), Shahram Khassipour, and Oscar Kissanga, the Executive Director of the Tanzania Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture (TCCIA), signed the document on the Iranian and Tanzanian side respectively.  

The two held a meeting after the signing ceremony where they discussed ways for further expansion of economic and trade cooperation.

The Iranian side said that the private sector of his country is ready to meet different needs of Tanzania in different areas, including, petrochemical products, bitumen, pharmaceuticals, food and agricultural machineries.

Khassipour said that Iran could also import certain agricultural items and tropical products from Tanzania.   

He voiced Iran’s readiness for exports of techno-engineering services, especially those needed for road building, construction, mining and energy sector to the African country.
