EU vote on Chinese EV tariffs inconclusive, leaving EU Commission to decide, EU sources says

BRUSSELS : European Union countries failed to vote clearly in favour or against tariffs of up to 45 per cent on Chinese electric vehicles, leaving the European Commission to decide what to do, EU sources said on Friday.

The EU executive could adopt the tariffs or could submit a new proposal if it wished to secure broader support among EU members.
