Typhoon Bavi slams into east China's Zhejiang coast

China’s Zhejiang province was on its highest alert as Typhoon Bavi made landfall at around 11:20 p.m. local time Saturday. Zhejiang had activated its top-level emergency response earlier in the day. This followed mass evacuation efforts, involving more than one-and-a-half million people moved to safe shelters opened across the region. CGTN’s Chen Tong checked in from one of the major shelters in Wenzhou city.
