China urges the US side to revoke discriminatory policies against Chinese journalists immediately, and China reserves the right to take reciprocal countermeasures, a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson said on Friday.

Spokesperson Lin Jian told a daily press briefing when asked to comment on the fact that the US side has claimed to shorten the visa stay period for journalists, which may include Chinese journalists.

US restrictions on people-to-people exchanges serve neither side’s interests, Lin said, adding that China firmly opposes discriminatory measures targeting specific countries.
