Speaker: Shusha Declaration gave impetus to expanding Azerbaijan-Türkiye relations

The signing of the Shusha Declaration gave impetus to further expansion of relations between Azerbaijan and Türkiye.

As Report informs, this was stated by the Chairperson of Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova during a meeting with a delegation headed by the Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee of Türkiyes Grand National Assembly, Fuad Oktay, who is visiting Azerbaijan to participate in an international parliamentary conference “Parliamentarism: Traditions and Prospects.”

Touching upon the importance of tomorrow’s conference, Speaker Sahiba Gafarova said that the event is dedicated to the role of parliaments in the political life of both countries and mutual cooperation. She expressed satisfaction with the successful cooperation between the two countries in all areas.

It was especially emphasized that Azerbaijan and Türkiye, as brotherly countries, have laid a solid foundation for regional cooperation. It was noted that the unity of the two states is a key factor for stability and security in the region.

The head of the Foreign Relations Committee of Türkiye’s Grand National Assembly expressed gratitude for the invitation to the event and the hospitality shown. He emphasized that the Cooperation Agreement signed last year between the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan and the Grand National Assembly of Turkey plays an important role in further expanding bilateral relations.

During the meeting, views were also exchanged on a number of other issues of mutual interest.
