HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad inaugurates WPA in Bahrain
Manama, Nov. 5 (BNA): His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), Chairman of the General Sports Authority (GSA), and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC), inaugurated the World Padel Academy (WPA) in Bahrain today.
The ceremony was attended by His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa, Vice President of the BOC; His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali Al Khalifa, Vice President of the Bahrain Football Association; Sheikh Saeed bin Maktoum Al Maktoum, President of the UAE Padel Federation (UAEPA) and the Honourary President of the Arab Padel Federation (APF); and Fahad bin Mohammed Salem Kardous Al Ameri, UAE Ambassador to Bahrain.
The World Padel Academy’s first branch in Bahrain was developed by Kanoo Real Estate, a subsidiary of Yusuf Bin Ahmed Kanoo Group, through a strategic partnership between the UAE’s Spadrec Investments and Bahrain’s Courtside Sports. This branch joins the academy’s established network in the UAE and now serves as the official base for Bahrain’s Victorious Padel Team.
The academy brought a significant addition to Bahrain’s sports sector, featuring five indoor courts, including a main court, equipped with the latest technology and built to international standards to offer an exceptional experience for players of all levels.
This opening of the academy reflected the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to elevate Bahraini sports and achieve further international success.
The WPA is dedicated to advancing Padel sport by providing a world-class training environment under the supervision of professional coaches, positioning it among top-tier global centres capable of hosting major Padel tournaments.
