Youth Ministry Undersecretary receives UNFPA Representative
Manama, Oct. 31 (BNA): Marwan Fuad Kamal, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Youth Affairs, received Jocelyn Fenard, the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) representative for the GCC, residing in Oman.
The undersecretary wished Fenard’s success in performing his duties. He highlighted the ministry’s commitment to working with all UN organisations, particularly those focused on youth development, and praised the organisation’s impactful efforts in empowering the youth.
They discussed the key initiatives in Bahrain aimed at fostering positive youth engagement and empowerment, including the King Hamad Award for Youth Empowerment to achieve the sustainable development goals, the Nasser bin Hamad International Youth Creativity Award, Youth City 2030, and programmes from the Bahrain Scientific Center.
Fenard praised the ministry’s collaboration with UN organisations, noting the significant impact of its programmes on enhancing youth skills and capacities in alignment with UN goals. He reiterated UNFPA’s dedication to strengthening cooperation with the ministry through the development of joint initiatives.
