Chinese Commerce Minister Wang Wentao and his U.S. counterpart Gina Raimondo will have a phone conversation in the coming days, according to people familiar with the matter.

They will have an in-depth exchange of views on bilateral economic and trade relations and key issues of mutual concern, including the U.S. restrictions on electric vehicles (EVs), the source told CCTV News.

The potential upcoming phone call comes as part of institutional dialogue between Chinese and U.S. commerce ministries.

Wang and Raimondo last spoke over phone in January when the two sides had a substantive and pragmatic communication over each other’s economic and trade concerns, and discussed national security boundaries related to the economic and trade sectors of the two countries.
