When autumn paints the Qinling Mountains in vibrant hues, plump kiwifruits dangle from the vines, irresistible to red-billed blue magpies. These birds, with their penchant for hoarding, hide the excess fruit under leaves on the ground. However, other wildlife, taking advantage of the magpies’ industriousness, often discover and consume the cached kiwifruits. As a result, these feathered foragers inadvertently contribute to the fruit’s propagation throughout the mountainous region.
