73.6% of foreign trade of Kyrgyzstan accounts for SCO countries in H1

AKIPRESS.COM – Deputy Minister of Economy and Commerce of Kyrgyzstan Sanzhar Bolotov attended the second meeting of the Ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization countries responsible for foreign economic and trade activities.

“The heads of delegations discussed prospects and measures of deepening of trade and economic cooperation between SCO countries. It was declared that China will take over chairmanship in SCO Council of Heads of Government and 2025 will be declared the Year of Sustainable Development,” the Ministry of Economy reported.

Deputy Minister Bolotov emphasized the role of SCO countries in foreign trade of Kyrgyzstan, saying 67.9% of foreign trade accounted for SCO countries in 2023, including 49.6% of export and 72.8% of import.

“In the first half of 2024, these levels grew to 73.6%, 52.4% and 78% accordingly,” he said.

Deputy Minister Bolotov highlighted importance of construction of China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway, which plays a key role in strengthening of regional and international economic cooperation.
