200 children to undergo free cochlear implant surgeries in Kyrgyzstan

AKIPRESS.COM – 200 children with hearing impairment will undergo free cochlear implant surgeries in Kyrgyzstan by the end of 2024, the Ministry of Health reports.

Minister of Health Alymkadyr Beishenaliev held a meeting with Ambassador of Qatar to Kyrgyzstan Ali Jaber Mohammed Al Ghufran Al Marri.

They discussed the issues of conducting free surgeries for children with hearing impairments. The surgeries will be carried out by Qatari and Kyrgyz specialists at the National Maternal and Child Health Care Center. 168 children have already underwent these surgeries, and about 200 more surgeries are planned by the end of the year.

The parties also discussed improving the qualifications of five Kyrgyz ENT doctors in hospitals of Qatar.
