Man arrested for armed robbery at Tampines moneylender
When the officers arrived, they observed a man fitting the description, and subsequently placed him under arrest, said SPF.
The man was arrested within half an hour of the robbery, SPF noted.
“The stolen cash was recovered in full, along with the knife used in the commission of the offence,” it added.
The detailed description provided by the victim was vital in the swift arrest, said Justin Wong, Assistant Commissioner of Police and Commander of Bedok Police Division.
“Credit goes to the responding officers for their keen observation skills and good ground knowledge,” he added.
The man will be charged in court on Tuesday with armed robbery. The offence carries a jail term of between three to 14 years and at least 12 strokes of the cane.
