Istanbul mayor takes early lead against Erdogan-backed candidate amid local elections in Turkey



The incumbent mayors of Istanbul and Ankara, both members of Turkey’s opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP), have taken early leads in local elections seen as a test for President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
