PBOC governor says will keep monetary policy accommodative, expects inflation to pick up

HONG KONG : People’s Bank of China (PBOC) Governor Pan Gongsheng said on Tuesday the central bank would keep monetary policy accommodative, while inflation was expected to be ‘going upwards’.

He also told the HKMA-BIS High-Level Conference in Hong Kong on Tuesday that there were green shoots emerging in China’s Purchasing Manager’s Index (PMI), which gauges business activity levels.
