Operalia, the world’s foremost opera competition, lands in Africa

One of the most prestigious opera competitions in the world was recently held in Cape Town, South Africa. Founded by tenor Placido Domingo, Operalia has for the past 30 years helped to discover and launch the careers of promising young opera singers. Operalia has previously been held in cities like Paris, London, Tokyo and Los Angeles, but this is the first time that it’s being held on the African continent.
