Beijing Police to provide modern training in Beijing to enhance the capacity of Islamabad Police: Mohsin Naqvi, Minister of Interior Security, Pakistan

Islamabad: Beijing Police Department (China) to train officials of Islamabad Police for modernizing public security system through the use of Artificial Intelligence, other advanced technologies with support of China.
The decision was made during a meeting between Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and a high-level delegation of the Beijing Police Department, led by Deputy Director General Gao Jianxin, in Islamabad on Wednesday.
Beijing Police Department is a component department of the Beijing Municipal People’s Government in charge of public security across the city. It is also the leading and commanding organ for the people’s police of the public security organs in Beijing.
During the meeting, it was further decided that officers of Islamabad Police will be sent to Beijing where they will participate in various training courses of Beijing Police Department.
They will also receive special training for the use of Artificial Intelligence to further improve the policing system.
Mohsin Naqvi emphasized that modern training in Beijing will significantly enhance the capacity of Islamabad Police.
He said Beijing Police is a highly efficient and technologically advanced force, and Islamabad Police should fully benefit from their experience.
The Interior Minister welcomed the offer of anti-riot training to be imparted by Beijing Police to Islamabad Police.
On the occasion, the Interior Minister thanked the Beijing Police Department delegation for their commitment to enhancing cooperation with Islamabad Police.
Beijing Police Department under Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau works for maintaining traffic safety and public order in Beijing, capital city of China.
Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau also works as the security guard of the leaders of the Party and the state and important foreign guests in Beijing besides managing household affairs, nationality, entry and exit affairs and foreign national’s residence and travel in Beijing according to law.
The Beijing police bureau is responsible for guiding and supervising the public security work of state organs, social organizations, enterprises and public institutions and key construction projects in Beijing, and guiding the public security work of mass organizations.
Equipped with modern practices and technologies, the Beijing police bureau is responsible for the security of the public information network in Beijing.
Islamabad Capital Territory Police or ICT Police organization is responsible for preservation of peace and public safety through implementation of local state, Federal laws and by providing support/assistance during emergency or crisis situations in Islamabad territory, the 10th largest city of the country, having a population of two million people, while Islamabad-Rawalpindi twin cities metropolitan area is the third largest in Pakistan with population exceeding five million.
Establishment
Islamabad Police is regulated by Central Police Office (CPO), which consists of five divisions: Operations, Security, Law & Order, Safe City and Logistic. Total sanctioned strength of ICT Police is 12625. Commander of the ICT Police is termed as Inspector General of Police (IGP), who is a senior bureaucrat of the Police Service of Pakistan (PSP). Divisions of ICT Police are headed by respective Deputy Inspectors General of Police and managed by respective Senior Superintendents of Police, whereas Islamabad Model Traffic Police is headed by Senior Superintendent of Police, and Information Technology Branch is headed by Director-Information Technology. Special Branch is another specialized entity, which is headed by Assistant Inspector General of Police. Safe City is a unique entity, which is headed by Director General and managed by Directors. Territory of Federal Capital Islamabad is covered by 22 Police Stations.

- To provide safe, secure and public friendly environment to the citizens of Islamabad. • To maintain Law and Order effectively. • To prevent, detect and investigate crimes. • Efficient and smooth flow of traffic on the pattern of advanced traffic systems of the world. • Security of President and Prime Minister of Pakistan, heads of the states and foreign dignitaries visiting Islamabad, Foreign Diplomats residing in Islamabad and other vital installations. • Intelligence gathering to fulfill the objectives / targets of ICT police. • Encourage public participation in the fight against crime – CPLC, public conciliatory committees, and human rights watch group. • Help the citizens in times of distress through Rescue-15.
