Trump touches down in Qatar for Middle East trip, 2nd leg


U.S. President Donald Trump landed in Qatar on Wednesday, the second stop of his three-day Gulf tour, amid mounting questions over a lavish $400 million aircraft deal offered by Doha.

Trump’s arrival at Hamad International Airport was confirmed by an AFP journalist traveling with the delegation.

The visit comes at a pivotal moment in U.S.-Qatari relations, which have been thrust into the spotlight following reports that Qatar proposed providing a custom-built luxury aircraft for Trump to use as Air Force One – and later retain for personal use.
