Bahraini Cultural Days conclude in Moscow

Moscow, Nov. 22 (BNA): The Bahrain Cultural Days concluded in Moscow, showcasing the Kingdom’s rich culture, heritage, and arts to the local audience.

The two-day event, held on November 19-20, was organised by the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA) in collaboration with the Russian Ministry of Culture, as part of a memorandum of understanding signed during His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s historic visit to Russia in May.

The second day featured a lecture by Talal Mohammed Al Mannai, member of Bahrain’s Shura Council and Managing Director of Al Mannai Jewellery, at the Victory Museum.

The lecture explored the history of Bahrain’s gold craftsmanship, from the ancient Dilmun and Tylos civilisations to the present, highlighting the creativity and artistry deeply rooted in Bahraini society.

Al Mannai showcased traditional Bahraini gold jewellery and discussed its reputation in the Middle East and beyond, as well as Bahrain’s efforts to establish itself as a hub for precious metals and natural pearls through regulations and advancements in the jewellery sector.

The event also included screenings of two Bahraini films. “Al Bashara,” directed by Mohammed Bu Ali, explored aspects of Bahrain’s cultural and social life, while “With Passion,” directed by Ahmed Al Zaki and produced by the Ministry of Youth Affairs, documented the inspiring journeys of three artisans crafting contemporary jewellery.

The activities concluded with a Bahraini music concert featuring performances by Mohamed Asiri, Abdulrahman Awad, and Rashid Bucheeri, showcasing the beauty of Bahraini melodies.

The programme began with the opening of the exhibition  “Treasures of Bahrain: The Art of Gold Crafting Through the Ages”at the State Historical Museum in Moscow.
