Bahrain cultural days in Moscow showcase Kingdom’s heritage in Russia
Manama, Nov. 17 (BNA): The Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities, in collaboration with the Russian Ministry of Culture, is organising the “Bahrain Cultural Days” programme in Moscow on November 19-20. The event aims to foster cultural dialogue and showcase Bahrain’s rich heritage, arts, and historical creativity to audiences in the Russian Federation. It also follows the Memorandum of Understanding signed last May during His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s visit to Russia.
The programme will begin on November 19 with the opening of the exhibition “Treasures of Bahrain: Gold Craftsmanship Through the Ages” at the State Historical Museum in Moscow. The exhibition, which runs for three months, will take visitors on a journey through Bahrain’s gold craftsmanship history, spanning the Tylos era 2,000 years ago, the Islamic period, and the modern age. It features unique Bahraini gold artefacts, showcasing the exceptional skills of Bahraini artisans, including pieces from the Al Mannai Jewellery collection. The exhibition also highlights Bahrain’s efforts to preserve its traditional crafts and the sector’s vital role in the local economy.
On November 20, the programme continues with a lecture titled “Bahrain’s Gold: Past and Present,” delivered by Talal Mohammed Al Mannai, Director General of Al Mannai Jewellery, at the State Historical Museum. The lecture explores Bahrain’s legacy in gold craftsmanship and its global reputation, highlighting the creativity and iconic pieces of Al Mannai Jewellery. The day’s activities also include screenings of Bahraini films at the Victory Museum, followed by a Bahraini musical evening, reflecting the Kingdom’s deep cultural heritage.
