President Japarov and Imam of Medina discuss cooperation in religious education

AKIPRESS.COM – President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov on October 25 met with Imam of the Prophet’s Mosque in Medina Sheikh Salah Bin Muhammad Al Budair, the press service of the President said.

The sides exchanged views on a wide range of issues, including prospects of cooperation in the field of religious education and strengthening of spiritual ties.

Japarov thanked for hospitality of Saudi Arabia to Kyrgyz citizens, including pilgrims and migrant workers. He said that every year 6,000 Kyrgyz people perform Hajj and more than 50,000 – Umrah.

The President noted the 27-year service of the Sheikh as Imam in the Prophet’s Mosque in Medina and expressed hope that the visit of the Imam will be useful for Kyrgyz theologians and religious officials, and they can learn from his experience.

Salah Bin Muhammad Al Budair conveyed the greetings of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud, Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Saudi Arabia.

He said that the cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Saudi Arabia is strategic and aims at progressive deepening of bilateral cooperation in the fields of education, health care, religion and charitable projects.

Imam of the Mosque of the Prophet in Medina noted the importance of sharing experiences and strengthening ties between the peoples of the two countries, expressing confidence that his visit will lay a solid foundation for future joint projects and initiatives.
