Under the patronage of HH Shaikh Khalid, Bahrain to host FIBA 3×3 World Tour
Manama, Oct. 18 (BNA): Under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), Chairman of the General Sports Authority (GSA), and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC), the FIBA 3×3 World Tour will be held on Friday, November 1.
This marks the second consecutive year that Bahrain is hosting the event, Which demonstrates the Kingdom’s success in hosting major international sporting events.
HH Shaikh Khalid directed the allocation of all required resources to ensure the success of the global event, calling for coordinated efforts between public and private institutions, and various media outlets, to ensure comprehensive coverage of the event.
HH Shaikh Khalid emphasised the GSA and BOC’s commitment to providing full support to ensure the World Tour’s success, which will take at Bahrain Financial Harbour in Manama.
The supreme organising committee, chaired by His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa, Vice President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC), has convened meetings to ensure the success of the World Tour. The event will serve as a platform to promote the Kingdom and enhance its international position, particularly with the participation of numerous global basketball teams and the event’s broadcast on various television networks worldwide.
The Bahrain World Tour will take place over two days and will feature a local 3×3 basketball tournament with the participation of 20 teams representing all clubs under the Bahrain Basketball Association. A GCC women’s 3×3 tournament will also be held, which will take place for the second consecutive year.
The organising committee has arranged a dedicated sports and family entertainment zone for spectators, featuring a variety of sports and heritage stations aimed at promoting the Kingdom. This initiative will also foster a unique, family-friendly sporting environment for Bahraini fans attending the event.
