Jordan marks Arab Environment Day
Amman, Oct. 14 (BNA): The Ministry of Environment is participating in the celebration of Arab Environment Day, this Monday, an annual event that unites Arab nations to address urgent environmental challenges and seek sustainable solutions for preservation.
This year’s theme, “Rehabilitating Lands to Enhance Resilience,” emphasises the need for collaborative efforts among Arab countries to foster a clean and green environment free from pollutants.
As part of the celebrations, the Ministry will introduce several green initiatives and share electronic messages and videos through its official website. Minister Muawiya Radaideh highlighted Jordan’s commitment to environmental conservation, acknowledging the country’s pivotal role in the Arab region and reinforcing the belief that protecting the environment is a shared responsibility, the Jordan News Agency (Petra) reported.
He reiterated Jordan’s dedication to collaborating with international and local partners to safeguard the environment and support recovery efforts.
Radaideh emphasised the urgent need for Jordan to transition to a sustainable green economy, which requires enhanced interaction with ecological systems to increase green spaces, combat desertification, and restore lands for greater resilience.
