President Japarov and President of Chamber of Deputies of Italy discuss interparliamentary diplomacy strengthening

AKIPRESS.COM – President Sadyr Japarov met with President of the Chamber of Deputies of Italy Lorenzo Fontana in Rome, the president’s press service reported.

They exchanged views on strengthening interparliamentary diplomacy, current topics on the bilateral, regional and international agendas.

Lorenzo Fontana noted that Sadyr Japarov’s visit to Italy will give new impetus to further development and deepening of relations between the two countries.

He also expressed confidence that the upcoming meeting of the President of Kyrgyzstan with representatives of the Italian business community will be useful and interesting, and that Italian entrepreneurs actively invest and prefer to work in international markets.

The President of the Chamber of Deputies of Italy thanked the Kyrgyz side for its active participation in Italy – Central Asia dialogue.

Sadyr Japarov confirmed readiness of the political leadership of Kyrgyzstan to develop a range of bilateral relations with Italy. He said that for this purpose, in 2020, a decision was made to open the Kyrgyz Embassy in Italy.

The President of Kyrgyzstan noted that Kyrgyzstan is the only country in the Central Asian region that has experience with a parliamentary form of government.

“I believe that the current parliamentary democracy originates from people’s kurultais (assemblies) and we successfully continue this century-old tradition to this day. In turn, Italy also has a long tradition of parliamentarism. We are committed to developing inter-parliamentary relations with Italy,” President Sadyr Japarov said.

The parties expressed confidence that the agreements reached will become the basis for developing and deepening of mutually beneficial inter-parliamentary and interstate relations between the two countries.
