Dialogue of Women of Central Asia held in Kyrgyzstan
AKIPRESS.COM – The second session of the Dialogue of Women of Central Asia was held at the Ala-Archa state residence on October 4.
During the event, heads of delegations and representatives of international organizations made presentations on the role of women in solving pressing problems.
Special Representative of the UN Secretary General Kaha Imnadze noted that the protection of the rights and safety of women and children contributes to solving many problems in the region. He also focused on the current situation in Afghanistan, the parliamentary press service reported.
UN Resident Coordinator in the Kyrgyz Republic Antje Grawe shared her ideas on increasing women’s participation in public and political life. She also drew attention to the importance of combining efforts to reduce violence against women and children.
The meeting also featured sessions, where the implementation of the Women, Peace and Security agenda was discussed.
