Wild Autumn: How feathered hoarders help spread kiwifruits
When autumn paints the Qinling Mountains in vibrant hues, plump kiwifruits dangle from the vines, irresistible to red-billed blue magpies. These birds, with their penchant for hoarding, hide the excess fruit under leaves on the ground. As a result, these feathered foragers inadvertently contribute to the fruit’s propagation throughout the mountainous region.
