Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs calls for unity, urges responsible use of religious platforms
Manama, Oct. 2 (BNA): The Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs called on preachers, Imams, and religious figures to exercise caution and wisdom in light of the current sensitive global and regional situation. The council emphasised the need for messages that promote unity, strengthen social bonds, and maintain the integrity of religious platforms, urging against the use of the Minbar (pulpit) for divisive or partisan purposes.
In its statement, the council affirmed the key role religious platforms play in fostering societal development, security, and stability by spreading knowledge, virtue, and unity. The council urged religious leaders to remain focused on promoting peace and harmony, steering clear of rhetoric that could incite division or provoke conflict.
The statement also highlighted the need for the Islamic world to prioritise unity and cooperation, stressing that division and sectarianism have led to harmful consequences for many nations. The council called for collective efforts to promote harmony and peace, particularly among scholars, community leaders, and the media.
