Paris mayor's plan for Olympic and Paralympic symbols splits opinion
With Paris 2024 now over, Anne Hidalgo, the mayor of the French capital, says she wants to continue celebrating the history and memory of the Games by keeping the Olympic rings on the Eiffel Tower. She also says the Paralympic “Agitos” sign will be taken down from the Arc de Triomphe and installed on the Champs-Elysees until at least the next Games in LA in 2028. It’s a move that has divided opinion, with even the family of Gustave Eiffel, the tower’s chief engineer, getting involved.
