In pics: Student-designed aircraft take flight in northern China

The 2024 China University Aircraft Design Competition is underway in Dingzhou City, north China’s Hebei Province.

Over 2,000 contestants from over 100 universities and research institutes are participating. Each team has designed and built their aircraft from scratch. Their creations will undergo scaled flight testing to gauge their performance.

Organized by the Chinese Society of Aeronautics and Astronautics, the competition runs until October 4.
