China's construction of strong maritime nation advancing at full speed

Over the past 75 years, China’s marine economic strength has continued to improve and move towards a higher quality of development.
The country’s gross ocean product reached 9.9 trillion yuan ($1.4 trillion dollar) in 2023, a year-on-year increase of 6 percent. In the first half of this year, the total marine output value reached 4.9 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 5.6 percent, establishing itself as a vital contributor to the national economy.
