Grand Mufti meets Indonesian religious delegation
CAIRO – Egypt’s Grand Mufti Dr Nazir Ayyad has stressed the importance of maintaining the pillars of religion to face contemporary challenge.
His statements came during a meeting with a delegation of the Muhammadiyah Society, a major Islamic non-governmental organisation in Indonesia.
During the meeting, the Mufti hailed relations binding Egypt and Indonesia especially in the religious domains.
He also praised the role of the Indonesian religious society in spreading the moderate teachings of Islam.
On the Dar Al Ifta training department, Ayyad said it trains ulemas from various countries to encourage them to spread the upright religious teachings.
For their part, members of the Indonesian delegation appreciated the role of Dar Al Ifta saying it help boost co-operation between the two sides.
