Kuala Lumpur: The Malaysia SDG Summit 2024 commenced at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre on 17-18 September, offering a unique opportunity to engage key conversations around the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and exploring ways to enhance global supply chain sustainability.

With a focus on actionable insights, the event aims to bring valuable strategies that align with commitment to building a more sustainable and compliant future for customers.

SDG Summit 2024 is gathering to connect, learn, and contribute to the global sustainable development journey.

Also PM Anwar Ibrahim visited the UN booth at #MalaysiaSDGSummit2024. UN RC Karima El Korri presented the PM with the UN Country Results Report 2023 and an overview of the Malaysia-UN SDG Trust Fund and the Call for Proposals launched today.

Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said “This summit marks a pivotal moment in Malaysia’s journey towards a sustainable future”.

The participation in summit signifies a bold step forward in driving the conversation on green architecture and sustainable development. Together, we aim to shape a future where urban spaces are not only efficient but thrive in harmony with our natural environment. It’s inspiring to see stakeholders from diverse sectors coming together to tackle the challenges of our time, ensuring a better, greener future for generations to come. Said Anwar Ibrahim.

Let’s continue to build sustainable cities, embrace green building practices, and work hand-in-hand to achieve our Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

In her remarks at #MalaysiaSDGSummit2024,  Karima El Korri also highlighted 4 enablers of SDG progress in Malaysia; policy alignment and coherence with and within SDGs, ⁠political will for SDG implementation, ⁠and effective decentralization, and ⁠partnerships.

#MalaysiaSDGSummit2024 is green future event that aims to advance our SDG goals of UN.

 The review will be carried out through auditing of Government’s activities, programs and projects whether the SDGs are implemented in line with the wishes of the 5-year Plan Malaysia.

This summit was hosted by the Ministry of Economy and co-organised by the National SDG Centre (PSN) and the Malaysian Green Technology and Climate Change Corporation (MGTC) as strategic partners. The SDG Summit served as a platform for stakeholders from various sectors to converge, share insights, and take substantive steps toward realising the SDGs.

 Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Summit 2024 witnessed the experts discussing on the 2030 Agenda. It demonstrates the progress made at global level, the Asia Pacific and Malaysia. Also, what more to be accomplished in the commitments made. The event was organised by the Ministry of Economy of Malaysia.
