UFC 306: Kyrgyzstani Valentina Shevchenko regains championship title after 3rd fight against Alexa Grasso

AKIPRESS.COM – Kyrgyzstani Valentina Shevchenko returned the UFC Women’s Flyweight Champion title.

On September 15, Shevchenko won a dominant unanimous decision win (50-45, 50-45, 50-45) over Alexa Grasso from Mexico to take the third meeting between the two women in Nevada (U.S.).

As a result of 5 rounds, the judges unanimously decided to give the victory to Shevchenko, who regained her title.

Shevchenko won the title for the first time in this division on December 8, 2018 beating Joanna Jędrzejczyk from Poland. After this, the Kyrgyzstani has defended her title for 7 time, but on March 4, 2023 she lost to Grasso in a choke technique.

On September 16, 2023, the athletes met in a rematch that ended in a tie and the championship belt remained in Grasso.
