Defence min. inspects Mohamed Naguib Military Base

Egyptian Minister of Defence, Military Production and General Commander of the Armed Forces Abdel Meguid Saqr on Sunday inspected the Mohamed Naguib Military Base, in the presence of Chief-of-Staff of the Armed Forces Lt. Gen. Ahmed Khalifa and a galaxy of brass commanders.
The inspection tour falls within the the framework of keenness of the general command of the Armed Forces on maintaining field follow up on the formations and units of the army.
Saqr was briefed by Commander of the Northern Military Zone Maj. Gen. Hisham Hosny on Mohamed Naguib Military Base which is deemed one of Egypt’s key military fortresses.
The tour of the defense minister included inspecting the training fields and the electronic tactical shooting complex, which is equipped with state-of-the-art systems to host military drills and transfer expertise with friendly and sisterly nations.
He also inspected the residential facilities dedicated to delegations of countries taking part in the military exercises.
The defense minister conveyed greetings and appreciation of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to fighters of the Northern Military Zone as well as the president’s greetings on the Prophet Muhammad’s birthday.
Mohamed Naguib Military Base is located in the city of Hammam, Marsa Matrouh Governorate. It was constructed on an area of 18,000 feddans.
It is the successor to the military city in the Hammam region, which was established in 1993. It includes 1155 buildings and facilities.
