Egypt, Norway review boosting investments in Egypt

CAIRO – Minister of Industry and Transport and Deputy Prime Minister for industrial development Kamel Wazir underlined the depth of Egyptian-Norwegian ties in various domains, especially as Egypt is looking forward to boosting volume of cooperation.

Wazir made the remarks during a meeting with Norwegian Ambassador in Cairo Hilde Klemetsdal and a delegation from Scatec company which is specialized in new and renewable energy domain.

The meeting reviewed means of boosting Norwegian investments in Egypt in the new and renewable energy domain, he said, noting that Egypt is open for cooperation with various world countries.

For her part, the Norwegian ambassador highlighted the interest of the Norwegian government and companies to invest in Egypt within the coming period in the fields of maritime transportation and renewable energy.

She lauded the progress realized by Egypt in the field of infrastructure, roads and bridges.

She handed over to Wazir a message from Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre to President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on proposed Norwegian investment projects within the coming three years.

The talks also tackled cooperation opportunities in the field of renewable and clean energy.
