Jeddah’s historic district embraces future with ‘teamLab’ museum
Jeddah, Aug. 25 (BNA): The “teamLab Borderless” museum in Jeddah is bolstering the Kingdom’s position as a center for arts and culture, both regionally and globally.
Jeddah, a prominent city in the Middle East with a rich history and a UNESCO World Heritage Site designation, was specifically chosen to host this groundbreaking museum. This selection aligns with Saudi Vision 2030 and Jeddah’s strategic goal of becoming a top global destination for culture and tourism.
The project is part of an initiative to develop infrastructure for cultural exhibitions, in line with efforts to increase cultural offerings in the Kingdom. The museum is a significant component of the Quality of Life Programme, contributing to the development of Saudi arts and culture in accordance with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
Featuring over 80 interactive digital art installations spread across a vast 10,000 square meters, the museum offers visitors an immersive and unforgettable experience.
The Borderless Museum is the inaugural teamLab museum and the first permanent museum of its kind in the Middle East. This further strengthens Jeddah’s allure as a hub for culture and tourism, capturing global attention.
By embracing innovative initiatives like this, Saudi Arabia is solidifying its position as a global arts and culture destination while preserving and celebrating its unique Islamic, Arab, and national heritage.
