Bournemouth working on deal to sign Kepa Arrizabalaga from Chelsea
Bournemouth is working on a deal to sign goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga from Chelsea, Report informs via The Athletic.
Arrizabalaga has fallen down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge and Bournemouth are looking to recruit him on loan for the 2024-25 season.
The south coast club are in talks with Premier League counterparts Chelsea and the 29-year-old, who has been identified as their top target.
Other teams are also considering Arrizabalaga, while Bournemouth has alternative options for the position including Aaron Ramsdale of Arsenal.
Given his contract is scheduled to expire in 2025, Arrizabalaga would need to agree an extension before embarking upon a temporary transfer.
Arrizabalaga spent last season on loan at Real Madrid where he made 20 appearances.
He was a regular in the first half of the campaign for Madrid before Andriy Lunin was preferred in selection by head coach Carlo Ancelotti from the midway point of the season.
Arrizabalaga joined Chelsea from Athletic Bilbao in the summer of 2018 and has made 163 first-team appearances for the London club, where he has won four trophies including the 2021 Champions League title.
