Iran’s annual shoe exports surpass $90 million
Iran’s shoe exports reached over $90 million in the past Iranian calendar year 1402, which ended on March 19, according to Rasoul Shajari, chairman of the Iranian Union of Handmade Shoemakers.
Shajari also noted that the country produces 250 million pairs of leather shoes annually.
His comments were made during the 11th International Exhibition of Footwear, Bag, Leather, and Related Industries (MPEX 2024), which opened on Monday at the Tehran Permanent International Fairground. The four-day event features more than 150 domestic and international companies, including participants from Italy, China, and Turkey, showcasing the latest products and services.
The exhibition displays a wide range of leather goods, including office bags, men’s and women’s leather shoes, sandals, sportswear, leather clothing, and various types of processed and artificial leathers. Leather processing machinery, such as laser and press machines, sewing equipment, and other industry-related tools, are also being presented.
