Thai Q2 GDP grows 2.3% y/y, above forecast
(Corrects to add “%” to headline)
BANGKOK : Thailand’s economy expanded 2.3 per cent in the second quarter from a year earlier, official data showed on Monday, beating analysts’ expectations in a Reuters poll for 2.1 per cent growth.
On a quarterly basis, Southeast Asia’s second-largest economy grew a seasonally adjusted 0.8 per cent in the April-June quarter, data from the National Economic and Social Development Council showed, just below the market forecast of 0.9 per cent growth.
In the first quarter of 2024, GDP grew an upwardly revised 1.6 per cent on the year and 1.2 per cent on the quarter. (This story has been corrected to add ‘%’ to the headline)
