Cempedak welcomes its harvest season in Hainan
August is a harvest period for cempedak in south China’s Hainan Province. In an orchard in Tunchang County, ripe cempedak fruit hang on trees, attracting people’s attention.
Cempedak is a tropical fruit originally from the Southeast Asian countries such as Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand, and has been introduced to Hainan in recent years.
The appearance of cempedak resembles jackfruit, and its taste is closer to durian but with much more honey flavor. It has high nutritional value, and is rich in protein, vitamins and minerals, which help enhance the immunity of human beings.
