Bahrain welcomes efforts of countries and organizations participating in Geneva Conference to support humanitarian situation in Sudan

Manama, August 16 (BNA): The Kingdom of Bahrain welcomed the dedicated efforts made by the countries and organisations participating in the Geneva Conference to support the humanitarian situation in the Republic of Sudan.

In a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Kingdom of Bahrain affirmed its support for the decision of the Sudanese Transitional Sovereignty Council to open the Adre border crossing to deliver urgent humanitarian aid, considering the deteriorating living conditions of the Sudanese people due to the ongoing war in Sudan.

The statement called on the parties to the conflict to provide protection for relief workers and to facilitate the unhindered access of humanitarian aid to various conflict areas. It also stressed Bahrain’s firm position in support of Sudan’s sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity.
