18 religious organization members detained in Batken region for illegal preaching
AKIPRESS.COM – The Department of Internal Affairs of Batken region recorded cases of illegal preaching among residents of Kyzyl-Kiya city.
The Service for Combating Extremism and Illegal Migration of Kyzyl-Kiya received information that the members of the Jehovah’s Witnesses held gatherings in a local cafe twice a week, where they read religious books.
The Service, together with the State National Security Committee, went to the gathering and found 18 members of the Jehovah’s Witnesses on August 10. The law enforcement agencies seized 35 religious books, about 400 leaflets with appeals, 5 invitation cards and a laptop.
The investigation is underway.
