Can China achieve perfect ends in diving, table tennis at Paris 2024?
Olympians from around the world are competing in 39 gold medal events at the 2024 Paris Summer Games on Saturday.
Chinese athletes have so far won all of the table tennis titles in the French capital, and will face Japan in the women’s team final at South Paris Arena 4 at 15:00 (GMT+2), looking to secure the country’s fifth gold in the sport and extend their winning streak on the female side to five in a row.
At the same time at the Paris Aquatic Centre, China’s Cao Yuan and Yang Hao will both take part in the men’s 10-meter platform diving final. If either contender finishes on top of the podium, their delegation will complete a sweep of all eight golds in the sport.
Chinese boxer Li Qian will meet Atheyna Bylon of Panama in the women’s 75-kilogram final at Roland Garros Stadium at 22:34 (GMT+2).
And the USA will seek to extend its dominance in Olympic men’s basketball, while host nation France looks to stand in the way and spring an upset in the final at Bercy Arena at 21:30 (GMT+2).
