Olympic Games: Wrestler Meerim Zhumanazarova advances to semifinals

The Kyrgyz athlete is competing in women’s 68 kg freestyle wrestling event. In her opening match, she faced an athlete from Mongolia and secured a hard-fought victory, coming from behind after the first period with a score of 0:3. In the second period, she scored 8 points to win.
In the quarterfinals, Zhumanazarova’s opponent was Nonoka Ozaki from Japan. The match ended with a score of 8:6 in favor of the Kyrgyz athlete, who advanced to the semifinals.
Her next opponent will be Blessing Oborududu from Nigeria. The semifinal matches will start at 1 AM Bishkek time.
