Crane vessel of Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company overhauled

Overhaul works of the Atlet-8 crane vessel, owned by Caspian Sea Oil Fleet of Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company (ASCO), have been accomplished, Report informs, citing the company.

Repair process was carried out at the Bibiheybat ship repair yard. During the work, crane with lifting capacity of 40 tons, main and auxiliary engines, pumps, and pipeline systems have been repaired.

Vessel’s living quarters, bathrooms, and dining room were repaired. Cleaning and painting of the underwater and above-water parts of the vessel, which was dry-docked, repair of the propulsion and steering system, bottom and side fittings, protective devices, replacement of damaged areas in the underwater and above-water parts of the hull, which pose a danger during navigation of the vessel.

In addition, the vessel was equipped with 1 FURUNO FELCOM-18 İnmarsat-C set, 2 sets of FURUNO FM-8900 UQD stationary radio station, one TRON 60AİS (EPİRB) type radio beacon, 1 KODEN MDC-7912 type radar set, radio broadcasting and navigation equipment have been overhauled.

After the repair was completed, testing of the crane with lifting capacity of 40 tons was carried out and successfully completed. The vessel was taken out for sea trials to check the mechanism and electrical equipment while functioning. After successfully completed sea trials, the vessel was handed over to the representatives of the Register for classification.

The length of the crane vessel is 65 meters, and the width is 15 meters.
