Chinese athletes aim for track and field medals at 2024 Olympic Games

The track and field competitions at the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics will begin on Thursday. China’s team held a series of training sessions in Troyes, which is 180 kilometers away from the host city, to help some of its members get ready for the upcoming events.

Chinese triple jumper Zhu Yaming and sprinter Ge Manqi are both looking forward to standing on the podium in their competitions.

“The training period before the Olympics was a very solid stage for me, and gave me a lot of energy to prepare for the Games,” said Zhu, who will participate in the men’s triple jump on August 7.

“At this year’s Paris Summer Olympics, I hope to show my ‘Chinese Speed’ with an optimistic and positive attitude,” added Ge, who will compete in the women’s 100-meters on August 2.
