Egypt’s Ambassador to Italy Bassam Rady hosted yesterday a celebration marking the 72nd anniversary of the July 23 Revolution.
The event was attended by a number of Italian officials, including representatives from various ministries and members of the Italian House of Deputies and Senate. Also present were executives from major Italian companies operating in Egypt and senior officials from United Nations organisations in Rome.
Addressing the event, Ambassador Rady said: “It gives me pleasure to address you as we celebrate the 72nd anniversary of the glorious July 23 Revolution, a pivotal day in modern Egyptian history”.
This event not only marks the end of an era but also signifies the beginning of a global transformation towards freedom, dignity, and independence for the Egyptian people.
“We recall the enduring spirit of resilience and determination of the Egyptian people,” Rady said. The July 23 Revolution was not merely a political change; it was a profound social transformation aimed at improving the lives of all Egyptians, primarily through providing equitable opportunities for social justice, Rady noted.
He referred to the firm and deeply rooted relations binding Egypt and Italy.
Cairo and Rome share a rich tapestry of historical and cultural ties spanning thousands of years. This deeply rooted relationship has evolved into a robust partnership across various sectors.
Egypt remains committed to progress and development, investing in innovation and education, and supporting sustainable economic growth to build a prosperous future for citizens, Rady said.
On this occasion, we also pledge to promote peace and stability in the Middle East region, he sid, expressing support for Palestinian people during their ongoing struggle to achieve their sovereignty and independent state.
Rady voiced appreciation to Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni for her keenness to boost bilateral relations with Egypt over the past few years.
He also highlighted the ongoing co-operation and direct coordination between Meloni and President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.
