Family medicine center No. 6 receives equipment for treating reproductive system diseases
AKIPRESS.COM – Doctors Without Borders (MSF) in Kyrgyzstan handed over medical equipment to family medicine center No. 6 as part of the Women’s Health project on July 26.
The equipment is intended for treating diseases of the reproductive system. It includes a coagulation therapy device and accessories, the Ministry of Health notes.
Director of the center Asel Tengizbaeva said that this is a significant contribution to the family medicine center, as it provides treatment to more than 35,000 women.
This equipment is necessary for such procedures as cauterization of erosion, removal of papillomas, condylomas and various precancerous lesions.
“MSF in Kyrgyzstan, together with the Ministry of Health, is implementing a project on screening for cervical cancer and breast cancer. It is very important for us to have equipped FMCs that can carry out further necessary diagnostics and treatment,” Cecile Catacutan Joyce, medical coordinator of the MSF Kyrgyzstan project, said.
