7.6 million tons of transit goods pass through Iran in four months
Foreign transit through Iran has reached as much as 7.6 million tons in the four calendar months to July 21, marking a 58.5% increase year-on-year, according to customs data.
Head of the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) Mohammad Rezvanifar said on Monday that foreign transit via Piranshahr Customs in West Azarbaijan Province has grown by 661% in the mentioned period, the biggest growth among Iranian border terminals.
After Piranshahr customs, the largest increases in foreign transit were from Sarakhs, Parvizkhan and Bashmaq customs, witnessing 286, 197 and 111 percent increases respectively during this period, he added.
Pointing out that the largest volume of foreign transit was carried out from Parvizkhan Customs in the four-month period, he said, “During this period, 2.166 million tons of goods were transited from Parvizkhan Customs in Kermanshah province, and Shaheed Rejaei customs area.
Bashmaq, Bazargan and Piranshahr were ranked next.
