Kazakhstan sends humanitarian aid to districts of Kyrgyzstan affected by mudflows
AKIPRESS.COM – Kazakhstan sent 40 tons humanitarian aid for people affected by mudflows in southern Kyrgyzstan on July 19.
Humanitarian aid from the Biz Birgemiz Qazaqstan fund includes flour, sugar and other products, as well as household hygiene items, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kyrgyzstan reported.
Today, humanitarian aid will be sent to Osh region.
The water level in the Ak-Buura River increased due to mudflows on July 14. A stream of water poured into Navoi Park and the central market of Osh. According to the latest data, 5 people were killed and 19 were injured. 146 residential buildings, 5 recreation areas and 8 crossings were damaged.
9 people died in Nookat district as a result of mudflow on June 28. A state of emergency was introduced in the district. About 1,400 people were evacuated from mudflow sites.
